Brickability, one of the UK's leading suppliers of brick and facade materials and part of the BRCK Group, is showcasing the specification expertise available across its multiple specialist businesses, after Skinner Street in Leeds is shortlisted at the 2026 Brick Awards.

Supplied by LBT Brick & Facades, one of the nine specialist businesses within the Brickability family, the 31-storey residential tower designed by Leach Rhodes Walker Architects, has been shortlisted in the Large Housing Development category.

Simon Jones, Consultant at LBT said, "Skinner Street is a strong example of the role careful specification plays in delivering successful residential schemes. Brick and facade materials have a huge influence on how a building looks, how it responds to its surroundings and how successfully the original design vision is achieved.”

The shortlisting reflects the role that early-stage material selection and specialist facade knowledge can play in delivering large-scale residential schemes, where appearance, planning requirements, buildability and supply all need to be carefully considered.

A selection of Brickability’s businesses predominantly assist architects, developers and contractors at specification stage. These include Brickability Ltd, Architectural Facades, Brick Services, Bricklink and LBT Brick & Facades, which together offer technical guidance, material selection advice, brick and masonry matching, samples, CPD seminars and bespoke design support.

The Group's specification spans facing bricks, brick slips, cladding, masonry, prefabricated brickwork, terracotta rainscreen systems, stone, concrete, ceramic and wider facade solutions. As part of the specification offering, customers also have access to the group’s bespoke Skyeline Balcony Systems. Every balcony is precision-engineered, made from lightweight, structural materials that are 100% recyclable, making them a more sustainable option when compared to traditional steel balconies.

This broad offering allows project teams to access product knowledge and practical advice from the businesses at the point when material decisions have the greatest impact on the final scheme.

Richard Cosgrove, Managing Director Distribution Division - Brickability companies at BRCK Group said, "Across Brickability, our businesses are increasingly working with architects and developers at the earliest stages of a project. That is where we can add real value, helping teams understand their options, solve challenges early and make confident material choices before decisions become fixed."

The 2026 Brick Awards shortlist marks the 50th anniversary of the awards, which celebrate excellence in brick architecture and craftsmanship across the UK built environment.
