Gander, together with retail partner Iceland Foods and food-sharing app Olio, has been named winner of the Sustainable Retail Innovation Award at the 2025 Retail Technology Innovation Hub (RTIH) Innovation Awards.
The award recognises the power of collaboration in tackling food waste, highlighting how technology, data and purpose can work together to deliver real impact.
Gander, Iceland and Olio were also proud finalists in two further categories – Bricks and Mortar Innovation and Technology Implementation of the Year (UK) – underscoring the strength of the partnership’s commitment to sustainable retailing.
By integrating Gander’s real-time discounting technology with Iceland’s store network and Olio’s community-sharing platform, the collaboration helps ensure that perfectly good food finds its way onto plates rather than going to waste.
A spokesperson for Gander said: "We are absolutely delighted that this ground-breaking collaboration between Gander, Olio and Iceland has been recognised as a winner at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards. This achievement reflects the passion and hard work of all the teams involved and highlights how collaboration and technology can make a real difference in reducing food waste.”
The RTIH Innovation Awards, hosted by Retail Technology Innovation Hub, celebrate excellence across retail technology and recognise businesses driving positive change through digital innovation in the UK.
Gander extended thanks to its partners Iceland and Olio, and to the wider Gander team, whose creativity and commitment continue to push boundaries in sustainable retail innovation.
