YLEM group launches new solar PPA brand Power-Zero

YLEM, a leading independent renewable power generation specialist, has today launched Power-Zero

YLEM, a leading independent renewable power generation specialist, has today launched Power-Zero, a specialist business focusing on assisting businesses to achieve their sustainability objectives through onsite renewable power generation Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) solutions.

Power-Zero will also utilise the Power-Zero Optimise Portal, a user-friendly interface that provides continuous updates and valuable insights to customers, providing them with access comprehensive system data which can seamlessly assist ESG reporting requirements. The portal will also allow customers to access valuable operational insight which can be used to inform how the business can better enhance its own use of onsite generation, such as weather monitoring to indicate when the greatest renewable generation can be achieved.

As two thirds of businesses now worry about rising energy costs, Power-Zero will be well placed to help alleviate concerns by helping companies to deliver clean, renewable energy in a cost-effective manner by developing robust onsite solutions through a PPA.

In an era where sustainability and environmental responsibility are at the forefront of business decisions, renewable energy sources like solar power have emerged as a reliable and affordable option for businesses. YLEM’s solar PPA team, now operating as Power-Zero, already supports a variety of companies across different energy-intensive sectors, such as manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, warehouse and logistics, including Brown-Forman, Denby Pottery, Marlin Industries’ and Scapa UK.

Last year, YLEM Group entered into a partnership with distiller Brown-Forman, the producer of brands such as Jack Daniel’s and Benriach, to develop a 620kW solar array that will enable them to deliver 502,117 kWp of clean, renewable energy each year and is expected to offset 120 tonnes of CO2 annually.

YLEM Group’s growing portfolio of clients with solar PPAs will be handled by Power-Zero, representing a commitment to developing the offer of solar for more businesses.

Sophie Lamb, Head of Solar, Power-Zero, said: “We’re excited to be announcing this new chapter with the launch of Power-Zero and our Power-Zero Portal.
“With 80 percent of companies planning to invest in carbon reduction measures over the next 12 months, now is a pivotal time for many to think about how they might want to do that, and what Power-Zero can offer them.
“I’m looking forward to seeing what we achieve with this new name and brand ethos in 2025 and beyond.”
